Concept

KNOT is a light installation exploring human connection. Inspired by the Japanese Mizuhiki knot, a symbol of unity, it transforms this symbol into a dynamic, immersive spatial experience. Through animated, gestural brushstrokes in light and motion, KNOT as a universal symbol, celebrates evolving bonds and illuminates public space, inviting audiences to witness a shared gesture of unity.

Rooted in Berlin’s history of division, the work metaphorically weaves past and present, east and west, transforming architecture into a powerful gesture of reconciliation and shared humanity. This work uses black and white in their pure contrast: white represents purity and hope, black represents strength and endurance. Light and shadow coexist to form unity and eternal love.
