calligraphy artist, visual designer

Ink moves with breath
A stroke traces motion
Space becomes a form

.

Calligraphy transcends language, becoming a living, evolving art form. Shaped by a life across cultures, my practice bridges the centuries-old tradition of Japanese calligraphy with contemporary experience. Through gestural ink strokes, I transform letters, words, and symbols into a visual language, guided by Yohaku, the active presence of blank space. The spaces between strokes become invisible drawings, shaping composition through movement and silence. While grounded in paper, my work expands into motion graphics, spatial installations, and digital media. In my practice of Expanded Calligraphy, where tradition meets innovation, the art form moves beyond boundaries, crafting contemporary expressions that breathe new life into an ancient tradition. Create, teach, and perform with work exhibited across Europe, the US, and Japan.
