Ink art brought into light, where analog ink strokes meet digital motion

momentum

This work premiered as a light installation at LUX Helsinki, the international light art festival in Finland. Exploring expanded calligraphy as an art form that moves beyond tradition into space and light with video mapping on the old historic landmark buildings. A three-part visual series that invites viewers to pause, stepping away from the noise to reconnect with the present moment. Each piece offers space for reflection as a visual meditation through simple calligraphy drawing compositions.

Momentum 1: Momentum of a Knot

Inspired by the Mizuhiki knot – a traditional Japanese symbol of connection—this piece reflects on how life weaves together through relationships, memories, and experiences. Each drawing represents the flow of connection.

Momentum 2: Momentum of Love

Momentum of Love
Five love-themed Japanese poems from a 12th-century anthology are reimagined as visual poems through calligraphic ink drawings.

Momentum 3: Momentum of a breathe
Breathe with strokes, move along with rhythm and movements. Each ink stroke is a trace of the moment.
